But wait wouldn’t a powerful charger also be bulky? Generally yes however this adapter is 35% lighter and 18% smaller than typical 96W chargers, so you should have no problem packing it into your suitcase, handbag, backpack or even larger pocket. This is the most robust adapter I’ve ever tested, and I can’t believe how compact the GaN technology makes it. But what is GaN you might ask…well it stands for gallium nitride and it’s the next generation of charging tech that’s aiming to replace silicon. With gallium nitride you get 93% energy conversion, enhanced heat dissipation, and more power that could fit into a smaller package; it’s truly a revolutionary piece of technology. I’ve tested a lot of GaN chargers as of late, but one thing is clear: there’s never been a charger that’s pushed this future tech that far.

In fact, any USB-C device or device using a USB-C to Lightning cable will work with this adapter though it may not necessarily receive the 100W output. Note: You must use a USB-C charging cable with E-Marker to access 60W+ charging speeds. Your original Apple/Samsung charging cables may not tap into the faster speeds. I’m hoping future devices will use the USB-C protocol to make this a lot easier for everyone, but it’s okay if they don’t as this supports QC as well.

Why Hyppr Sonic Is the Future of Charging

Hyppr Sonic’s adapter is just the beginning of all-in-one hyper charging and it’s a future that I’ve been waiting for a long time. The next step would be to make devices capable of charging at 100W+ beyond just laptops & desktops. The day my phone could go from 0 to 100% in 5-10 minutes is the day the charging future will officially arrived. The Sonic charger is a welcome addition in this transitional phase because it finally does something other devices don’t; it propels technology forward. It does this by broadening usability, shrinking the footprint, and focusing its scope. It remains to be seen what happens but I like the direction this company is going, and I pray it expands beyond it.

Hyppr Sonic 100W Wall Charger: Final Review

The Hyppr Sonic adapter is noteworthy for being a powerful, compact wall charger that distinguishes itself from its competitors. I would give the Hyppr Sonic 100W Wall Charger 5 out of 5 stars. I’m not sure I’ve ever given a product 5 stars before, but this gadget deserves it. So to recap here’s a final breakdown of all the pros this device has:

Broad Compatibility

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who owns a USB-C device, MacBook or iPhone if you have a USB-C to Lightning cable lying around. It’ll be well worth it and the PD/QC protocols will ensure your device is quickly and fully charged. The Hyppr Sonic 100W Wall Charger is an ideal accessory that’s innovative and forward-thinking, and you absolutely must own one in this crazy hyper-sonic world we’re living in.
